Dr. Mann is the best!! She makes sure to answer all your questions and takes time to make sure you understand anything and everything before you leave. She is slow but I do not mind cuz I know i get the best care and I know she is very keen on everything

My Mother was seen today in the walk in clinic by Dr. Turner. She is a heart patient and on oxygen. She was diagnosed by Dr. Turner with a UTI. She was told he would call her in a antibiotic called CIPRO AND DIFLUCAN in case she develops a overgrowth of yeast, as she is prone to after completing a antibiotic. My Mother doesn't drive, so I go to the pharmacy after I get off work to pick up her 2 prescriptions, so we thought. As this is what she was told! I arrive at Walgreens and they have only one prescription ready. I questioned Walgreens and spoke to the pharmacy manager on duty to make sure there was no mistake on the pharmacy's part. He assured me only diflucan was called in which she doesn't need unless the antibiotic she was suppose to take causes a yeast infection. We assumed the antibiotic was necessary as the DR said it was. And in the past it was important to begin treatment as soon as possible. As my mother has previously been hospitalized for acute kidney failure after a UTI Diagnosis. I called the office after hours and reached a very rude individual that was reluctant to contact anyone in regards to this matter, however she did. She called me back and told me DR. TURNER said call the office in the am. The lack of concern for my Mother's health is very disturbing. She is having fever, chills and a lot of discomfort. Typically the sooner you begin your antibiotic for an infection the sooner you feel better. I am now questioning the competency of this DR and the entire staff. As this is not the first incident of this nature. I will contact the office tomorrow to try and resolve this issue and hopefully gain a better understanding of how this happened and how to avoid problems like this in the future with this medical practice or any others for that matter. Did my mother misunderstand her diagnosis and treatment? Did she misunderstand the time frame as to when she should start her treatment? Is DIFLUCAN a FDA approved medication for a UTI and not CIPRO? Maybe ... she was suppose to take the DIFLUCAN today and then the CIPRO will be prescribed tomorrow or later? Or maybe my Mother misunderstand the urgency of treatment and it's not urgent at all. I'm sure there is a logical explanation and there was a misunderstanding on mine or my Mother's part, surely. I am confident I will find the answers I am looking for tomorrow after speaking with the office. I am very inquisitive!!!
